There's no doubt I miss southern California's consistent, beautiful weather. However, there's something about having periods of unfavorable weather (seasons), that makes you appreciate those months when it's "perfect" or even comfortable. This is the time of year that reminds me of growing up in North Carolina. Long days, warm nights, noisy bugs, screen doors, and porches. I'm happy and comfortable here in NC.
